Sunday 13th July – 15th Sunday of the year
Reflection: Isaiah 55:10-11
GOD’S WORD TO ME
Two persons can read the same scriptural text and come out with a different message. Why? Though there is one Holy Spirit who helps us understand the Scripture, we are all different individuals and have different needs. Hence, the word often ministers to us in such a way as to meet our individual needs.
Each time we read or hear the word of God, we have the privilege of learning something new and we must open our hearts to what God is saying to us at each point in time if it is to truly bear fruit in us. Dear friend, God’s word is addressed to you as you read and study it. Much more than we need food each day to have strength for our activities; we need God’s word for us each new day. You cannot fast from the word of God because it is God’s plan for your life. As long as you live, this need remains. God’s word is needed for the gradual process of growth we undergo in our journey of faith and it is the food for your spirit.
Let us therefore open our hearts to God’s word; prepare our hearts to be receptive and hold firmly to His word even in the midst of difficult situations, trials and tribulations. When doubts and failure comes your way, remember and recount God’s word of faith and success. Do this in prayer and be sure of God’s glory in the end.
PRAYER: Lord Jesus, let your word be my delight every day that I may daily fulfill my purpose in life. Amen.
